A Slice Of Sanjay Camp
Sanjay camp is a shantytown in Chanakyapuri. It is hemmed from the diplomatic neighbourhood by the embassies who are the dwellers’ major employers. From its foyer, the camp is marked by water tankers and residents rushing with empty and filled jerkins, a labour that carries on an entire day. The insides of the water thirsty basti are pulped with resilience, friendships and communal harmony and the hope that access to water and sanitation won’t remain a pipe dream. In my attempt to explore their world, I got to experience their spaces, struggles, conversations, moments and stories. I hope through my visual compositions of Sanjay camp, you get a flavour of a diverse yet peaceful microcosm of the India around it.
